Bridgton Hub Wins SWD Schools T20 Title

The Bridgton Hub claimed the Cricket South Africa Schools T20 title for the SWD region on Tuesday, 5 November, with a decisive victory over the D’Almeida Hub from Mossel Bay, winning by 60 runs in the final held at the Recreation Ground.
Batting first, Bridgton posted a competitive total of 156/8 in their 20 overs. Keano Coerecius played a standout innings, scoring 58 from 44 balls, including one six and five fours. He was well supported by Wilrino Meyer, who contributed 21, and Josh Karelse, who scored a brisk 51 from 39 balls with one six and five fours. Their partnerships for the second (59 runs) and third wickets (86 runs) formed the backbone of Bridgton’s innings.
In response, D’Almeida Hub was bowled out for 96. Bridgton’s bowlers dominated, with Sherwin Plaatjies (2/3), Lastio Williams (3/4), and Jerwill van Wyngaardt (4/24) delivering impactful performances. For D’Almeida, Joshua Rossouw shone with an all-round performance, taking 4/22 and scoring 24 runs from 26 balls, including one six and one four.
