The Infantry School soccer team from the Oudtshoorn Military Base secured a spot in the prestigious Western Cape ABC Motsepe Provincial League after a decisive 3-0 victory over Peace Makers FC on Saturday, August 31. The match took place at the military base sports facility during the Safa Eden Regional League mini-playoffs final.
In the first half, both teams exhibited competitive play, but Infantry School managed to score first. They took advantage of a defensive lapse by Peace Makers during a corner kick. The second half saw Infantry School extend their lead with a powerful shot from the left side of the field.
Despite increased pressure from Peace Makers, who sought to tighten their defense, Infantry School added another goal. The home team maintained an aggressive offensive approach while Peace Makers struggled to fend off further attacks.
With this victory, Infantry School will compete alongside notable teams such as Oriented Birds (Plett), Cape Town Spurs, Ubuntu Football, and FN Rangers in the upcoming provincial league. (Article Courtesy of Oudtshoorn Courant)
