Oudtshoorn Infantry School Football Club Hosts Annual Awards Dinner

The Oudtshoorn Infantry School Football Club held a formal dinner and awards ceremony on Friday, 11 July, to honour players who participated in the ABC Motsepe League Season 2024/2025.
The evening featured several guest speakers who delivered motivational addresses, encouraging players to remain focused and dedicated. Club captain Mojalefa Mpitso thanked his teammates for their efforts throughout the season and urged them to stay committed as preparations for the upcoming season begin.
In the absence of head coach Ricardo Williams, Sam Kekana, head of the club’s technical support team, addressed the players. He shared a powerful message: “We do not sleep, we prepare and face fresh challenges. Always have respect and seek respect, have a love for the game, let us stay hungry, humble and united.”
Mandilakhe Matika, representing the Oudtshoorn Department of Cultural Arts and Sports, called for strengthened unity within the team and pledged the department’s continued support for the club.
Gabriel Majolla, Chairperson of the Oudtshoorn Local Football Association, confirmed that the new season is expected to begin in September. He encouraged the players to learn from past mistakes and build a stronger club, commending the Infantry School for its inclusive junior development program for boys and girls aged 7 to 17.
Club Chairperson Major Desiree Mawela emphasized the importance of unity and collective purpose, stating that the club’s goal is to rebuild with a shared vision. Lieutenant Colonel Supiso Vincent Nakin, newly appointed Vice Chairperson, motivated the team ahead of their participation in the SA Army Championships in Dunnottar from 20 to 27 July.
